We start building all of our unique pods with 75mm x 47mm fully treated and regularised (rounded edges) FSC graded timber base frame which is screwed together using high-quality corrosion-resistant fixings.
75mm thick Polystyrene insulation is then installed between the base framework. This gives superb insulation against cold weather and ground frosts.
Heavy-duty high quality 1000 gauge/250 micron DPC membrane is then fixed to the underside of the timber base frame. This eliminates moisture being drawn into the already treated timbers above and prolongs the life of the structure and eliminates any draught through the floor area.
Our hand-built I-Beam roof trusses are fixed to the base frame at 600mm centers, this forms the unmistakable 'Pod' shape. Our unique design offers an impressive 110kg loading capacity per truss section giving full confidence in heavy snow and high wind applications. A truly far superior design to all other pod buildings currently on the market.
With the structure now formed, a reflective foil thermal membrane is fitted to the external face of the structure followed by 22mm thick interlocking timber cladding. creating a massively strong almost indestructible shell, a breathable roof membrane is then fitted over the cladding to give 100% watertight seal, ready for a wide range of roof finishes.
Felt shingles are fitted as standard available in various colours and patterns. Traditional cedar roof shingles or a 32mm x 175mm treated feather-edge board timber finish is also available as an optional extra.

100mm thick thermal insulation is fitted between the I beams, this coupled with the reflective foil membrane ensures thermal efficiency through the coldest of nights whilst keeping out the heat on the warmest of days. A far superior system to our competitors.

Matching profile gable ends are then built and installed, our constructed solid timber walls matched with our 44mm thick joinery windows and doors are then installed. Far superior to 34mm joinery and 25mm thick walls fitted by most!
